The purpose of Adding Zest is to promote a Biblical understanding of sex, openly discuss the Christian woman's sexuality from the emotional, spiritual and physical side of things, and assist women who struggle with their sexuality. Our goal is to help rebuild the ruins that many Christian marriages have fallen into, and to help prevent others from falling into ruin.
Our theme is “Rebuilding the Ruins” based on Isaiah 61:4. "Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins. They will raise up the former devastations. They will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations."
Most of our articles are written by regular contributors but we do accept submissions for use in guest spots. Do you have a passion for Christian marriages and a heart for ministering to other women? Do you enjoy writing and can you discuss sex openly? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
We are seeking articles that will capture the interest of Christian women and inspire them to pursue the heart of God in their marriages—spiritually, emotionally and physically. Some areas that we are specifically looking for articles about are menopause and beyond, chronic illness considerations, and the emotional intricacies of sex, particularly from a professional standpoint.
Articles should be both encouraging and void of condemnation. As this is a Christian site, all submitted articles must reflect a Biblical perspective and glorify Christ. If a Bible verse is included, it must be clearly referenced, including the translation it was taken from. Due to the nature of this site, we strive to handle the topic openly yet with sensitivity and humor (where it works in) but never crudely nor in a degrading manner. We like to have pictures to run with the articles, but they must be kept PG.
Articles should be approximately 500-800 words in length, give or take some if necessary, and should be well proofed for errors before submission.
Authors must own the rights to any works that are submitted.
Articles must be submitted in Microsoft Word for Windows (.doc) format or .pdf files with the author’s name, telephone number, URL, and email address marked at the top. Authors should also include a short bio and photograph.
We will try our best to consider all submissions, but unfortunately, we will not be able accept all articles that are sent to us.
It goes without saying that Adding Zest will not link back to any site we deem inappropriate in content. So, please save us the time and do not submit an article if your blog or website includes any content, photography or links that are inappropriate.
If you would like to pitch an idea for a column to Patty and Heidi, please include a brief summary of your column idea as well as the theme it is intended for.
