Okay, it's confession time for me.
When I was preparing that poll I had to do research to find out what kind of bras there are. I was amazed at all the choices! Wow! Normally, when I go shopping I'm on a conquer mission--especially when it comes to bras and undies. I know what I like and I count my blessings if I can find what I'm looking for in my size—and I get bonus points for finding things fast. LoL

So, for that poll I went browsing online at Victoria's Secret. Then, just to make sure about things, I sent my boys to electronics while I ducked into the the undie aisles at WallyWorld (the big department store I do most of my shopping at) and looked around—something I hadn't done recently. I discovered a whole new world! Wow. The next time I go undie shopping I'll be planning more time so I can find some fun stuff!

When the bra poll was up I learned a few things. *grin* I learned I wasn't the only one that didn't know what all the different kinds of bras were! I also learned that many of us would be a different kind of bra than what we generally wear. Hmmmmmm. That really interested me!

As a group, we leaned toward wanting to be the sexier bras—which makes me think that we would like to be sexier women than just good ol' utilitarian kind of gals. Now don't get me wrong—utilitarian is good! I'm a utilitarian kind of girl, personally. BUT. LoL. But, that only covers so many things and only goes so far before I want some lace or sheer. And those particular things seem to scream feminine. I mean, how many men do you see sporting lace these days? And I don't remember seeing any men in sheer clothing, either.

Since many of us would like to be a sexier bra, does that affect our thinking and actions? Do we allow ourselves to think sexy or act sexy around our husbands?

Isn't that a lovely thought? Not. I know what kind of bra I like, what I'm comfortable in, and I go straight to that shelf in the store. I find my size and hightail it out of there. I don't look around. I don't see what's available to me. I grab and go. And that seems to be the story of my life sometimes. Grab and go. Whether it's shopping, cooking, cleaning, spending time with my kids, or visiting with friends. Grab and go. Even with my husband.

Now, there is a time to just grab and go, but when we've made it a habit, as I have, we need to slow down and linger. That means getting out of our rut and being willing to try something new. And this is the crux of the matter today.

Take a good look at yourself—what is your choice of bras telling you about yourself? Anything?

Are you in a rut?
Are we willing to try new things?

Okay, this is sooo true. My husband has a favorite bra of mine, and every time he sees me wear it, he thinks it's his birthday. Which one is it, you ask?

The lacy one. ;)

Can anyone help me? Where can you find a nice, lacy (maybe even racy), sexy bra that does NOT have an underwire? Underwire is so uncomfortable. Granted, if I let my husband know I'm wearing it, I don't have to worry about how long I'll wear it (sheepish grin) because I won't be wearing it for long. But, if I could find one comfortable, I could wear it and let him know I've been wearing it all day, and......(another sheepish grin). Any suggestions, ladies?

Thanks!

We just celebrated our 8th anniversary. The traditional gifts for that anniversary are pottery/bronze and lace. So I bought a lacy number from Victoria's Secret and put it down inside a miniature milk bottle that says "Live" on the outside of it (there's a story there.) My husband was thrilled with both !! :)

But, at the same time, since I was paying shipping, I decided to buy some new undies. I bought 5 pair. Granted, they are comfortable. But I tried to get a good mix of sexy and comfy. Then I let my husband go through my undie drawer and throw out 5 he didn't care for.

And it got me thinking .. when was the last time I put on under garments that he would like? When was the last time I tried to match my bra with my panties and both with my outfit so as to be pleasing to the eye. You know, by doing that, I feel sexier all day long and excited for him to see me when he gets home.

These are all new things for me .. I'm going through a transformation in this area .. and it's been awesome!!

Thanks for your awesome blog!

For me, shopping for bras is not real fun. I wear an odd size and can bearly find any at all. I'm too big for Victoria's Secret and too small for Lane Bryant sizes. Although, the only ones I do have are a bit lacy. :-)

This post made me snicker a little, because my husband is always teasing me about wearing "worn out" bras. I wear a bigger cup size, so my bras are expensive, I usually wait until they are pretty threadbare and "ugly" before buying new ones. I know this is not what you're supposed to do, but I'm bad about doing it. It's hard to justify spending that kind of money on myself that often. Every time I go on a trip or to church camp or somewhere where I will be changing in front of other women, my husband will instruct me to "go get yourself some new bras"! So, I guess my challenge is to allow myself the "indugence" of buying bras when I need them. I'm sure this would be a lot better for me physically, and I know my husband would definately think it was sexier. Thanks for the challenge!

Ooooh - boy. Hit me where it hurts, eh?? YES, I'm in a rut. But I LIKE my rut - does that count? LOL (probably not)

GONNA do something about this!

Bras have been a bone of contention for me since puberty. The "helpful" girl at Victoria's Secret laughed at me when I asked if they carried my size. Try that for deflating your self-esteem! Anyway, I happened across the following site. Best bras I've ever owned, and the site supports some good causes for women. Hope someone finds it helpful! http://tiny.pl/3s7l

Awesome challenge, Patty! Ruts are rarely good and I must confess, I'm "stuck." But I'll have to wait until I quit nursing to try some new things :)

Too funny, Peej. Um, no rut on this one. I know what my hubby likes, and I wear it! (except when he's not home, wink)
