Do you think we can come up with words related to marriage and loving our husbands physically for each letter of the alphabet?
Here's what we'll do:
I have Shaunti Feldhan's book For Women Only so let's do a book giveaway! Leave a comment on this post with words related to marriage and intimacy. Let's see how many words we can come up with for each letter of the alphabet. Feel free to explain your choice of words in the comment! Everybody pitch in with a word or two (you do NOT have to cover the whole alphabet!! LoL, but if you really want to, go for it!) and I'll throw your name in the book drawing hat. I'll compile a list of all the words at the end of the challenge. Never fear, I do have a purpose for this, but let's have fun with this in the meanwhile. =]Here's the book we're giving awawy:
For Women Onlyby Shaunti Feldhahn
What's going on in a man's mind? From their early days, every woman has struggled to understand why males behave the way they do. Even long-married women who think they understand men have only scratched the surface. Beneath a man's rugged exterior is an even more rugged, unmapped terrain. What bestselling author Shaunti Feldhahn's research reveals about the inner lives of men will open women's eyes to what the men in their life - boyfriends, brothers, husbands, and sons - are really thinking and feeling. Men want to be understood, but they're afraid to "freak out" the women they love by confessing what is happening inside their heads. This book will guide women in how to provide the loving support that modern men want and need.
The Alphabet Challenge Objective:
To get us thinking from A - Z about marriage and intimacy with our husbands.
The Alphabet Challenge Rules:
**The Challenge will end at 10 pm (CST in the USA) Sunday, October 25th.
**A random number generator will pick the winner and the winner will receive For Women Only.
**There will be only one winner and anyone can enter.
**Each person can enter up to three times, but please give me a different word with each entry, and the entries must be on different days.
**Pick a letter or two of the alphabet and think of a word that starts with that letter that has to do with marriage and/or intimacy with our husbands.
**Comments must be on this post to be entered. But please feel free to comment on the other posts! There will be at least 2-3 posts between now and the end of the challenge. =]
**Do NOT leave your email addresses in the comments!! Check back on Monday, October 26th to see if you won. I repeat: NO EMAIL ADDRESSES!! If I see one, I will delete the comment. I know that's different than most giveaways, but Adding Zest is not a usual site and I don't want your address out there for just anyone to see (and use).
**If the randomly picked winner does not contact me within a week, I will draw another winner.
I understand there will be some words repeated--that's okay! I won't 'disqualify' your entry, just tell us why you thought of that particular word and let's see how many different words we can find by working together.
To get the ball rolling here's my letters...
F - Forgiving --without forgiveness a marriage dies.
S - Sensually --let's love our husbands sensually since we are sensuous women!
So, what are your words?

35 Zesters spoke up:
L- LEARNING, in our marriage we are always learning about each other and what makes each other tick.
A-always be learning!
B-be beautiful--inside AND out!
C-complete each other
D-dare to love more
H- honesty, not always easy but vital for a strong foundation.
I -imperfection , no one is perfect so stop expecting it of yourself and/or your partner
L - laughter, make sure you share a good laugh together, it breaks through tension and helps you make positive memories
W - work, marriage requires us to put effort into it not just expect it to succeed because
P- playful ... if the marriage is full of play-time (however you want to classify that ;)), you will build memories for you, your spouse, and your children (assuming playtime is g-rated) that will be unforgettable.
U- unconditional ... marriage should not have conditions placed on it. "I will let you in if you ..." has no place in the marriage just like it has no place in our Spiritual Marriage with Christ. God brought us together for a reason ... we don't put conditions on God, why should we put conditions on our spouse?
X-exotic- the perfect place is in your marriage! Break out the lingerie and perfume. (I know,it's not technically an x but maybe you'll count it anyhew!)
Y- yearn- prepare your mind for your man all day long! It helps when you are yawning that evening...if you've been yearning for him all day!
Z-zesty- be full of spice and fun things to talk about...this might mean NOT talking about the kids or housework...okay, definitely!
WOWZERS!! You girls are doing GREAT! And I loooove your explanations/reasons! This is fantastic!
And MomE, the X words I came up with need an E before them, too. But hey, it works! =]
If you want to follow this comment thread, just check the 'email follow-up comments' box below. It's fun! =]
H-Honor...we should honor each other in all that we do
F--Forgiveness. Without it our hearts grow cold towards each other.
L--Lust. As bad a word as this sounds it is good to lust your spouse. It keeps things fresh.
Great Idea!
A - Abstinance before marriage
B - Birth of life
C - Covenant
D - Domestic Tranquility
E - Excitement
F - I thought of forgiveness first as it was much needed in mine, but since that was already said, I will use Friendship as that's one thing we should offer each other.
G - God-centered ('nuff said)
H - Hope (or hot tub)
I - Inviting
F - Fun!! Remember to have fun, enjoy yourselves, never take life too seriously. Fun naturally leads to...
L - Laughter, which was already said but should be repeated because we all too often forget to both laugh and have fun.
T - Time together. Make the time to be together, to do stuff together (not just in the bedroom), to talk. Don't let the distractions of the world (or even family) steal from your time together.
L--laughter
M--motion
N--nude
O--outdoors
P--practice
V - Vigilant [dict: keenly watchful to detect danger] - our enemy is on the prowl and hates Christian marriages! 1 Peter 5:8-9 The devil is depicted here as a prowling lion--quietly lurking and waiting to pounce when it spots weak prey. But his attacks can be resisted simply by standing firm in the faith, and remembering that we're not alone in being targeted by his wiles. (from http://www.gospel.com/topics/roaring+lion)
AFFECTIONATE- always show affection and let others see…as ministers we want our congregation to see how madly in love we are.
BOLDLY go where no woman has gone before. Treat your man to something new…which leads me to C…
CREATIVE- do not…and I mean DO NOT let intimacy become routine and boring. Get creative…I know you can do it.
DATE night…once in awhile you just need to go on a date…hey , maybe even stop on a dark side road and make out!
EXAMPLE- be a godly example of healthy marriage for those who come behind you…such as your children.
FAKERS not allowed…no faking the big O ladies…that doesn’t help anything. Wait for it…wait for it…: )
GO to him, don’t wait for him to start things.
HELP each other to find fulfillment.
AWESOME, Patty!!! You rock!
T-Together. If there is one word that sums up my wonderful marriage it is this. We live all of life together and our hearts are knit together. Precious. Which leads to...
P- Precious. View your spouse as a precious and valuable gift, a treasure.
Oh and I can't leave out
E- Engedi!!! Got to read my post for that one :)
T-TRUTH -the answer to any doubt
E-EYES- only for each other

R - Respect & Rhythm
Oh Heather...I like QUILTED...good word.

C= Cherish
F= Focus--I often notice that I am not really focusing my attention on my husband, but am thinking of all that needs to get done. I'm sure he feels more loved when I actually focus on his needs.
L= Listen
R= Respect--When I really respect my husband, everything goes better.
R= Relax--I think it is important to relax together and have fun. Also, to relax our expectations and the pressure we put on ourselves. That makes it much easier to be intimate.
